Kiszáradhat a Jordán folyó
Már a jövő évtől kiszáradás fenyegeti a Jordán folyót – hangzott el hétfőn egy a Jordán környezet- és vízvédelmével foglalkozó nemzetközi konferencián, Ammanban. A mintegy 180 résztvevő – akik két napon át a folyó megmentéséről tanácskoznak – egy jelentést vitat meg, amely a maga nemében az első ilyen vizsgálat, és konkrét javaslatokat tartalmaz az Izrael, Szíria és Jordánia által rendkívüli mértékben kizsákmányolt folyó “rendbehozatalára”, felmérve ennek lehetséges költségeit is. Hangrobbanástól gerjednek be a krokodilok
Meglepő összefüggésre derült fény egy izraeli lap értesülései szerint: a hatalmas hüllők libidóját a fejük felett elhúzó szuperszonikus vadászgépek hangja stimulálja. A Maariv héber nyelvű lap értesülései szerint érdekes felfedezést tettek a krokodilok szaporodási szokásait illetően. Megfigyelték, hogy egy olyan területen, ahová a hüllők jellemzően párosodni járnak, a szaporulat megugrik, amikor az izraeli légierő vadászgépei a környéken gyakorlatoznak. Öt nap a zöld nanotechnológiáról – Five Days on Green Nanotechnology
2011 júniusában ötnapos konferenciát szervezett egy lelkes diákcsapat az izraeli Bar-Ilan Egyetemen. A szakmai fórum résztvevői, közel harmincan, Németországból, Hollandiából, Spanyolországból, Bulgáriából, Angliából és Magyarországról érkeztek a tel-avivi felsőoktatási intézménybe.
