Óriáspókra bukkantak az izraeli sivatagban
Eddig ismeretlen, tenyérnagyságú óriáspókot fedeztek fel izraeli kutatók a sivatagban. A tizennégy centiméteres fesztávolságú lábbakkal rendelkező állatra az Izrael déli részén található Arava régió homokdűnéi között bukkantak rá – jelentette be a Haifa Egyetem kedden. Az új pókfajta a Cerbalus aravensis nevet kapta. Ez a közel-keleti Cerbalus faj legnagyobb pókja. Nagyon ritka dolog, hogy a világnak ezen a részén ilyen nagy pókot észlelnek.
